At Footprints in the Sand Counselling Kate Chrabaszcz aims to be empowering, and compassionate about helping people along their path of self-discovery. Like footprints in the sand, life’s path has left impressions on your life, Kate aims to walk alongside you. Kate is a clinical therapist and a registered professional counselor candidate (RPCc), with a background in childcare, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Kate loves everyone fiercely in their own individuality and will meet you where ever you are in your life’s path. Kate will strive to take you on a journey while using a wide range of techniques, including CBT, meditation, mindfulness, and talk therapy to help individuals struggling with low self-esteem, anger, anxiety, depression, forgiveness, and ADHD. Kate will walk patiently alongside you as you work through the struggles of your past. Kate’s knowledge and experience as a mature counselor have contributed to her compassionate, patient, non-judgmental, and empathetic personality. Kate has the ability to understand and connect with individuals of all ages and races and meet them wherever they are along their path.
Kate graduated with her diploma in Counselling from Kelowna College of professional counseling in December 2022 and is a member of CPCA in good standing. Kate has become a Youth Mental Health Specialist Certificate, and is looking forward to applying what I have learned to help your youth 12+. Kate first discovered her passion for counseling while fostering for 3 years. During those years Kate took many hours of training related to trauma, FASD, brain development, how trauma affects the brain, and trauma-informed care.
Kate’s full-time job for the last 10 years has been raising her 3 beautiful children, during that time she has also run her own day home and was a foster parent for 3 years. Before that, she was an accounting associate at Walmart and a store manager for Stitches. Kate currently volunteers for her local church and for Light’s Hope Counselling and Wellness and at the Camrose Women’s Shelter.
Kate grew up on a farm in rural Alberta, where she learned to love animals and the outdoors. Kate spent her childhood with her dog companion Buffy, roaming her family farm just outside of Meeting Creek . Kate moved to Camrose, where she currently resides in since 2005.
When Kate isn’t working with clients she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, taking long walks with their dogs Sadie and Rodger, and having family games and movie nights.
